Automated Password Reset - No E-mail Received

Automated Password Reset - No E-mail Received

Problem:
After completing the automated password recovery procedure, an e-mail was supposedly sent but has yet to be received.

Solution:
Cause #1
Invalid e-mail address on file for this user sign-on

Verify that the user e-mail address is valid by:
(Note: you will need to be able to sign in first. Please contact your administrator or iiX Customer Support if you need to change this information.)
  • Log into ExpressNet
  • Select "SETTINGS" from the top menu.
  • Select "USERS" from the top sub-menu.
  • Verify the e-mail address in the "E-mail Address:" field.

Cause #2
The e-mail account used during the automated password recovery procedure utilizes a spam blocker, junk mail filter, or a combination of both. This is very common with the popular services (AOL, COMPUSERVE, HOTMAIL, YAHOO, MSN, etc…)
Check to see if the e-mail account that you requested the e-mail to be sent contains a folder named "Junk E-mail", or "Spam." Open the folder and see if there is a message from iiX that was delivered there by mistake. Some services will allow you to permanently remove an e-mail from the junk e-mail or spam lists by selecting the e-mail and moving it to an "Acceptance" list.

If the your e-mail account does not contain a Junk E-mail folder, check to see if you have any settings for “SPAM, JUNK E-MAIL, etc.” Most services will allow you to place e-mail addresses on an “acceptance” list to avoid spam treatment. Place customersupport@iix.com and support@iix.com in the acceptance list.

Cause #3
There is a delay in receiving the e-mail
For the most part, this is probably not the case. As soon as a user completes the automated password recovery procedure, an e-mail is sent immediately to the e-mail address tied to the user. However, there could always be a delay in cyberspace… If the first two solutions didn’t work from above, please wait at least 5 minutes to see if it arrives.
