ExpressNet:
Error Message:  "You Have Attempted an Invalid Operation. You
May Not Change a Request in this Manner"

Problem:
The following error occured after a user clicked Save or Order in ExpressNet.

"You have attempted an invalid operation.  You may not change a request in this manner."

Solution:
Most likely the user clicked the Back button or used the History list in their Internet Explorer browser to go back to a previously entered request.  They then attempted to Save or Order again from that screen.  This is not allowed because of the potential for duplication of orders.

  • If the original request was a Quicktime that had already been filled, we cannot cancel it or credit for it.
  • If the original request was not a Quicktime, but was filled from our Archive, we cannot cancel the request.  Archive fulfillment is immediate with ExpressNet.
  • Contact iiX Customer Support to see if we can cancel a request for you. You cannot cancel a submitted request yourself.  We will attempt to cancel a request for you - provided it has not already been filled, or provided it has not already been submitted to the state. Once filled, or submitted to the state for processing, we cannot cancel a request and you will be required to pay the associated fees.
