ExpressNet Buttons Do Not Work or Cannot be Clicked
 

Problem:
A user reports that - after starting the ExpressNet program - they cannot select any of the menu options. 
 
Solution 1:
The user may be attempting to access ExpressNet with Netscape.   Netscape will not work

ExpressNet requires Microsoft Internet Explorer V4.0 - SP2 (Internet Explorer 5.0 or later is recommended).
 
Solution 2:
If you are using Internet Explorer 4.0 or greater, and experience these symptoms:

  1. Select the Internet Explorer option for Tools
  2. Then, select Internet Options
  3. Click the Security tab.
  4. Locate the slide bar under the caption "Security level for this zone."    If there is no slide bar, skip to item 8.
  5. If the bar is in the High position, that is the most likely cause of the problem. Lower the slide to Medium.
  6. Click the Apply button, then click the OK button.
  7. Close down the browser and restart it and access ExpressNet again.
  8. Follow these steps only if there was no slide bar in step 4:
    • Click the Custom Level button
    • From the "Reset to:" scroll box select the Medium setting, and then click the Reset button. You will be prompted to verify that you want to change the setting for this zone.
  9. Close down the browser and then restart it and access ExpressNet again.
Solution 3:
There have been cases where completely RESETTING the machine has solved this problem.
  • Click on START
  • Click on SHUT DOWN
  • Select the RESTART option
