Error:
"You Are Requesting
a Page Without
a Session Identifier."
|
|
Problem: |
After attempting to use any of the menu
options in ExpressNet, you receive the following message:
YOU ARE REQUESTING A
PAGE WITHOUT A SESSION IDENTIFIER (COOKIE). ASK YOUR SYSTEM ADMINISTRATOR
TO CHECK THAT PROXY SETTINGS ARE ALLOWING COOKIES. NOTE THAT YOU CANNOT
USE A BOOKMARK AND BYPASS THE SIGN IN PAGE.

Solution 1: |
The Security Settings for Cookies will need to
be tweaked:
-
If you are using Internet Explorer 4,
select the View option.
-
Select Internet Options
-
Choose the Advanced tab
-
Scroll down to the option for
Cookies. To allow Cookies to be set, the option should be set
to either Always Accept Cookies or Prompt Before
Allowing Cookies
-
If the option is set to Disable All
Cookie Use, that is probably what is causing the error.
-
If you are using Internet Explorer 5
or 5.5, select the Tools option.
-
Select Internet Options
-
Select the Security
tab
-
Click the <Custom> button on the
Security tab
-
Scroll down to the options for
Cookies. To allow Cookies, the options should be set to either
Enable or Prompt. If they are set to:
Disable, that may be the reason for the error.
-
Click <OK>, then click <Apply>.
-
Close the browser.
-
Restart the browser and log into the
ExpressNet service again.
-
If you are using Internet Explorer 6,
select the Tools option
-
Select Internet Options
-
Select the Privacy
tab
-
Click the <Advanced> button on the
Privacy tab
-
If the box for Override Automatic
Cookie Handling is not checked, click the box to check it and
make sure that the option for First Party Cookies is set
to Accept.
-
Click <OK>, then click <Apply>.
-
Close the browser.
-
Restart the browser and log into the
ExpressNet service again.

Solution 2: |
It is possible that the client is on a LAN and
their connection to the internet is through the LAN. The system
administrator may have configured the firewall or proxy server to disable
cookies and/or sessions. If the user is on a LAN, and changing the browser settings as
described above does not solve the problem, check with the LAN administrator
to see if Cookies/Sessions have been blocked by the firewall or proxy server.
