AMSEXPW.EXE Caused a General Protection Fault in module VBDB300.DLL
 

Either during installation of Express for Windows™ or when trying to start Express for Windows, the following error message is displayed:

AMSEXPW Caused a General Protection Fault in module VBDB300.DLL

VBDB300.DLL may be corrupt or there may be duplicates of the file.

• Try reinstalling Express after renaming or deleting VBDB300.DLL

  • Exit from Express.

  • Locate VBDB300.DLL and rename it to VBDB300.OLD.

  • Reinstall Express for Windows

There may be multiple copies of VBDB300.DLL on the C: drive. 

• Search the drive ( using Find ,  or from DOS using DIR VBDB300.DLL /S from a C:\> prompt.

• If copies of VBDB300.DLL are found in any directory(s) other than C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM,   rename them to VBDB300.OLD.

• Reinstall Express for Windows.
