Microsoft offers the following
troubleshooting for this error:
- Close all open applications and try
again.
- Close all open applications and
restart Windows 95/98 and then try again.
- Change the printer's Port Settings.
- Click on Start
- Choose Settings
- Choose Printers
- Right click the proper printer icon
and then select Properties
- Choose the Details tab.
- Click on Port Settings
- Remove the check from Spool MS-DOS
Jobs box
- Remove the check from Check Port
State box
- Save the settings, restart Windows,
and try again.
- Change the Spool Settings
- Click on Start
- Choose Settings
- Choose Printers
- Right click the proper printer icon
and then select Properties
- Choose the Details tab.
- Click on Spool Settings
- Click the radio button for Print
Directly to the Printer
- Save the settings, restart Windows,
and try again.
- Other reasons for the problem could
be: a bad printer driver, a TSR program, or a virus program.
- If this is a local printer, start
Windows in Safe Mode and try printing again.
