Problem:

The following error message is displayed while attempting to launch Express for Windows™:

Express Requires Date Format of M/D/YY

The error is being caused by the date format setting in Windows Control Panel.
 

Solution:
Windows 3.1 Solution:
  • Open the Main Group and select Control Panel.

  • Open the item - International Settings

  • Select Date

  • Select Change

  • Set date format to m/d/yy or mm/dd/yyyy (for Y2K compliancy) and the date separator should be the ( / ).

  • Click Apply and then Close.

  • Reboot and try Express again..

Windows 95 Solution:

  • Click on the Start Button

  • Select Settings

  • Select Control Panel

  • Select Regional Settings

  • Set short date style to be: m/d/yy or mm/dd/yyyy and the date separator should be the ( / ).

  • Apply and then close Control Panel.

  • Reboot and try Express again.
