Problem:

The following error message is displayed while attempting to start Express for Windows after upgrading from an earlier version.

Error 3011 - Couldn't Find Object ' '

Solution:

The EXPRESS.MDB database failed to upgrade or was corrupted during the upgrade process. The database will have to be replaced.

  • If you have a copy of Microsoft Access®, you may be able to repair the database.  If you open the database with Access, and the database is corrupt, Access will attempt to repair it. Newer versions of Access may ask if you want to convert the database to a newer format.  You do not want to convert!

  • If you do not have Microsoft Access, or if Access is unable to repair EXPRESS.MDB, you will have to reinstall the program.  Make sure to delete or rename the damaged file - EXPRESS.MDB - before reinstalling.
