Problem After Adding a New Modem Profile
 

Problem:
The following problem occurs while using Express for Windows:

  • They add a new "user-defined" modem profile by choosing Communications | Settings and then clicking the New button.
  • After naming and saving the new modem profile, the user notices that the fields for "Initialization Strings" and "No Connect Errors" are blank.
Solution:
The name given to a new modem profile must be 30 characters or less in length. If the user has created a profile with a name longer than 30 characters, shorten the name to 30 characters or less and save it again. The boxes for "Initialization Strings" and "No Connect Messages" should now be populated with the proper information.
