The user should simply press the
Cancel button and continue on with printing their reports.
This message is displayed when the software detects that the Internet Explorer 4 or 5 software was installed without Visual Basic Scripting Support. This would have been a Custom installation of Internet Explorer that took place prior to Express for Browsers being installed. EfB uses the Default installation option for IE and that does install scripting support. Express for Browsers would have installed scripting if Internet Explorer had not been already installed. System managers may choose to install without scripting support for security reasons. Microsoft® did announce the discovery of a security hole involving Visual Basic Scripting Support during 1999. EfB uses scripting only to call the
Internet Explorer printer functions. However, it does not appear that this
error keeps Express for Browsers from functioning. We have spoken to one
customer who was getting the error but was able to print successfully. We
were also able to print in our lab without the scripting support being
installed. |
