System Reboots or Locks Up when Express for Browsers is Started

Problem:
The PC with Express for Browsers installed seems to reboot itself each time you attempt to start Express for Browsers.

Solution:
Problems of this type are generally caused when a part of the operating system, or a device driver, gets corrupted (in memory) by another program. The most common offenders are video drivers that are poorly written.

Uninstall Express for Browsers and then reinstall. This is to verify that the installation was not corrupt.

Check to see what other programs or utilities are running.  Check the Start bar (next to the Start button), check the System Tray for small icons (next to where the time is displayed), and then do a Ctrl Alt Del to view the Close Program window.  Try to disable or close any programs that are not necessary.

If the above does not work, close down everything and reboot in Safe Mode.  When the system restarts in Safe Mode, attempt to launch Express again.  If it works, the problem is most likely one of the device drivers (video, network, etc) that loads in standard Windows® mode but does not load in Safe Mode. Consult with your computer professional or system administrator.
