"ODBC Library - The Version Resource DLL 'ODBCINT.DLL' is not Valid -
You Need to Reinstall ODBC and it's Components"
|
|
Problem: |
This error can occur while attempting
to start Express for Browsers:
ODBC Library - The version resource
DLL ODBCINT.DLL is not valid. You need to reinstall ODBC and it's
components.
|
|
Solution: |
The most likely reason for the error is:
A
previous installation of ODBC files and drivers was not successfully
completed, or an incomplete set of ODBC files and drivers was installed by
an application.
To verify this,
-
Click the Start button, then choose Settings
| Control Panel | ODBC (32-bit). This will open
the "ODBC Data Source Administrator" window.
-
Click on the About tab and compare the version
number of the items listed. Most likely there are one or two that have
version numbers higher than the rest. This means that the ODBC drivers
that are installed are mismatched.
Information:
-
Express for Browsers will install ODBC version
3.510.3002.13
-
If the Internet Explorer 5
installation runs, IE5 will install version 3.510.3711.0
How to proceed is dependent on what the versions
are. If some of the versions are 3.510.3711.0 and the rest
are a lower version, installing Internet Explorer 5 should bring all files
to the same version. In fact, if the versions are mismatched,
and if all versions are less than 3.510.3711.0 ,
installing IE5 should resolve the problem.
To install Internet Explorer 5 manually from the
Express for Browsers CD:
-
Browse the CD and find the IE5
folder.
-
Open the IE5 folder
and then locate and run the file IE5SETUP.EXE. This will
install Internet Explorer 5.
