"Stylesheet Files are Missing from Images Directory"

Problem:
The following error occurs while attempting to open Express for Browsers.

"Stylesheet Files are Missing from Images Directory"

"Looking in: <drive>:\iix\efb\images"

Solution:
A checklist:

  1. Make sure that you can access the \iix\efb\images directory (or whatever path was shown in the error message), either through DOS or Windows® Explorer. This is to verify that you can actually "see" the file.
  2. If this is a network, verify that the user has full rights to the \iix folder (subdirectory) on the server.
  3. If this is a Novell® network, make sure the files in the \iix folder (subdirectory) were NOT flagged as shareable. Server files for Express for Browsers on a Netware®  server are not to be flagged.
  4. Is the software loaded on a compressed drive?  If so, the EfB directory and all it's subdirectories should be uncompressed.  This requirement is no longer met with Express for Browsers 4.04 or greater.
  5. Check the Properties on the  *.CSS files in the \Images directory.  Make sure none of the Attributes for either Read Only or Hidden has a checkmark.  There are 3 of these files in the images directory..
  6. If this is a network installation, do other users experience the same problem?  Try them to make sure.
  7. Uninstall Express for Browsers using the Add/Remove Programs option in Control Panel. Make sure that the local Expplus.ini file is removed before reinstalling the program.   Reinstall Express for Browsers or re-run the Workstation setup..
